John Condit

Harmony and discordance roll together in life like in a tornado or a wave. There is always something churning, spinning, searching for a rhythm and a flow that ultimately gets the job done, whatever that job may be. Sometimes that job manifests in destruction, sometimes it breathes life. In the case of Nashville guitarist and songwriter John Condit, it is both.    In the wake of Condit’s tenure as a member of singer/songwriter Lilly Hiatt’s band, where he toured the world and contributed to Hiatt’s critically acclaimed albums Trinity Lane and Walking Proof. The new project also marks a departure from Condit’s longtime psych-rock band The Inscape, a well-known Nashville act he has fronted for years. “I feel that with every new personal project I dive into, the direction gets more focused,” Condit says.    Though fans of The Inscape will recognize Condit’s sense of groove and space, owing as much to the indie rock of Caribou as to the psychedelia of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, John Condit’s solo work is undeniably more polished. His debut album, Return To The Center, will be released Summer 2024.
