We dream. We plan. We all do it. We have our lives all planned out… or so we think.

It looked like a destined future in baseball for all-star Austin Bohannon as he began climbing the ladder of a division 1 baseball career. 

But as the story would go, this small-town dreamer had another deep passion. It was MUSIC! Even though baseball still holds a special place in his heart, Austin knew he was born to perform. It started in college, when he was supposed to be studying, he would find his mind drifting to song writing. Austin shares, “That is where my first love for songwriting begin. I would play a song to a handful of friends and they would say, ‘Hey that’s really good,’ so I would just keep writing!”

He was home visiting from college during COVID when he got his first call from a buddy about playing in a little local place around his hometown of Russellville, AL. After college graduation, he moved back home and decided not to pursue med school, but to give music a try full time! He reached out to a local venue close by, the Rising Crust, and asked if he could play. The manager asked him to send a video, and the rest they say is history! He has been playing consistently all over ever since. He followed local successful music star Gary Nichols around town listening to him perform and finally ended up reaching out to him about guitar lessons. Through the course of the lessons, Gary found out he was a writer and he said, "We need to get you in the studio." Austin then began playing several gigs around town with Gary, who now has become a great friend and mentor. 

Even though Bo, as he is affectionally known by his friends and fans, has only been playing full time for 2 years, his music has grown exponentially throughout the southeast and is now getting attention from all across the country. When asked about how quickly his music has taken off, Austin adds, “I am blown away by the support of the fans in sharing my music and how fast word has spread about what we are doing. I love performing, and I love meeting new people.” Just recently while in Nashville for a gig downtown, Austin met new fans from Australia and Birmingham, England! 

As his career continues to grow, he has had the privilege of sharing the stage and holding his own with some of the most well-known performers in the music industry, such as Shenandoah, Gary Nichols, Locash, and most recently, Colt Ford. He has played in many venues including bars, clubs, festivals, and fairs.
